A Young Male Gets A "Driving Under The Influence" Arrest And Comes To A Decision To Hire A "Drunk Driving" Lawyer
Even though Franklin wasn't an attorney, he told his son that he learned the hard way when as a young man he received a DUI, represented himself in court, paid five thousand dollars in penalties and fines, and served three months in the jail downtown. As he told his son, after he got released from jail, he found out from a lawyer friend that if he would have hired a "drunk driving" attorney to represent him in court, he more likely than not would have had his penalties and fines significantly reduced and he may have never served any time in the city jail.
When Lawrence heard this he knew he needed more facts about DUIs and so he asked his dad for additional information about what a "drunk driving" attorney can do in a DUI arrest. His dad then articulated the following: "If you have been charged with DUI you need a lawyer who will aggressively represent your legal rights through the complexities involved in a DUI case. DUI attorneys will be able to assist you every step of the way through the criminal process and help you find the answers you need."
When Lawrence listened to his dad explain this, it was as if his eyes were opened for the first time about the critical nature of hiring a "driving under the influence" attorney. Near the end of their conversation, Lawrence said that he was beginning to grasp the importance of DWI laws and what DUI lawyers can do for a person who has received a DWI arrest.
After getting "educated" about DUI arrests, the role of "drunk driving" lawyers, and the fact that he didn't have to agree to take any field sobriety tests at the time of his arrest, Lawrence decided that he would without a doubt hire a "drunk driving" attorney to represent him in court. Something else, however, happened after he had talked to his father. Lawrence finally started to comprehend the serious nature of "drunk driving" arrests and, as a result, he arrived at a decision that from this moment forward, he would always drink in moderation so that he would never again have to go through another DWI arrest.
His father smiled at Lawrence and told him the following: "son, it took me until I was fifty years old to realize what you just told me. I am very proud of you." This did wonders for his self esteem and so Lawrence thanked his father and then said, "if I can always drink responsibly, I will never need to hire a DUI attorney again!"
There was, however, one thing that neither Lawrence nor his dad thought about, namely, if Lawrence is exhibiting any alcohol abuse signs or perhaps if he is manifesting any of the routine signs of alcoholism. In truth, if Lawrence is manifesting any alcohol signs that indicate alcoholism or alcohol abuse, he may need alcohol rehab.
Indeed, Lawrence may be required by the court to get rehabilitation for his careless and abusive drinking. The good news, however, is that whatever it takes to deal with his unhealthy and abusive drinking, it seems that Lawrence will be motivated to do the "correct" thing.
